A new, high quality roofing product that provides a stunning three-dimensional appearance. Some of the most attractive architectural roofing shingles simulate cedar wood shakes.

It could be many possibilities, including faulty flashing, damaged shingles, nailing locations or inadequate ventilation are the most common.

Under deck drainage systems allow you to comfortably use the space under a high deck. These systems divert water away to create a dry space below.

A pressure treated wood deck can last up to 40 years if properly sealed or stained each year to protect the wood.

Alternative deck materials are a great choice for people who want to enjoy their deck without all the maintenance required by wood.

The most common materials used to make garage doors are steel and fiberglass. Steel garage doors are often the least expensive option, but they can rust if not properly maintained. Steel is also very heavy, which makes it difficult to open and close. Fiberglass garage doors are more durable than steel versions, and they’re also much lighter. However, they’re still expensive to install.

Wooden garage doors can be made of cedar or pine and offer a rustic look that’s perfect for many homes. However, they aren’t as durable as the other options listed above, and they require regular maintenance to preserve their appearance.

Insulation is an important part of a garage door because it can help to keep the temperature inside your garage at a comfortable level.

Insulation also helps to reduce noise and heat, which can be especially important if you live in an area with extreme temperatures. Insulation is often placed between the exterior steel panels of your garage door and the internal frame. This type of insulation will help to reduce heat loss during winter months, which can help to lower your energy bills over time.

In addition to preventing heat loss, insulation can also help prevent damage from water leaks and other moisture issues.

One of the best ways to keep your pre-finished steel garage door looking great is to clean it regularly with mild detergent and a soft cloth.

To do this, you’ll want to start by removing any dirt or debris that may have accumulated on the surface of your garage door. You can do this with a soapy sponge or cloth, though you may need to use a little elbow grease if there’s been much buildup.

Next, use a soft cloth dampened with warm water and mild detergent to wipe down the surface of your garage door. Be sure not to get any soap in the tracks where it can cause damage over time.

Finally, rinse off any remaining soap residue with another soft cloth dampened with warm
water until there are no more bubbles on either side of the panel.

Cleaning your wooden garage door can be a bit tricky, so we’ve put together a few tips to make
it easier. If you’re worried about damaging your garage door while cleaning it, don’t
worry—we’ve got you covered.

Step 1: Remove all visible dirt and debris from your garage door using a soft-bristled brush.

Step 2: Apply wood cleaner to the wood surface of your garage door using a clean cloth. Make
sure to scrub thoroughly in all areas where dirt and grime are present, as well as on any stains
or blemishes on the wood.

Step 3: Rinse off the cleaner with water and allow the wood to dry completely before applying a
coat of wood sealant (i.e., polyurethane).

Whether you want to match your home’s color or simply change things up, painting your pre-finished steel garage door is a great way to add curb appeal to your home.

You can use any paint you like for this project, but we recommend using latex enamel for the
best results. The key is to make sure you choose the right color and texture for the surface of
your garage door—a satin finish will work best for most projects, but if you have an old or faded
surface, semi-gloss may be more appropriate.

We recommend using three coats of paint over the surface of your garage door, allowing each
coat to dry completely before applying the next one. If there are any imperfections in the
surface, consider applying a primer first. This will help fill any cracks or ridges in the finish and
ensure a smooth surface for painting!

When you think of garage door maintenance, you probably think of oiling the hinges and making sure that they’re aligned properly. But there’s actually a lot more to it than that—and it’s important to make sure that your garage door is in good shape before you need it to be.

At Southern Home Creations, we recommend servicing your overhead garage door every six
months or so. This will help keep your garage door in good working order and prevent any
future problems from developing.

But what about repairs? What if something breaks? We offer emergency repair services for all
types of overhead garage doors, including:

-Broken springs
-Broken cables
-Broken motors
-Broken tracks (either side)
And more!

The springs on your garage door are the most important part of the system, and they’re often
the first parts to fail. The average lifespan for your springs is about 10-15 years, but it depends
on how you use your garage and how often you use it. It’s important to have your springs
inspected at least once a year so that we can make sure they’re still in good shape and make
adjustments accordingly.

We recommend replacing your springs every five years if they’re under a lot of stress or holding
up heavy doors over an extended period of time. If you have any questions about how long
your current springs will last, give us a call today!

There are a few ways to release a garage door from the operator in order to open it by hand.

1. If you have an older model that uses torsion springs, the best way is to manually wind
the springs back into place. This will allow you to open the door with some manual force.

2. If you have a newer model, there may be a switch on the wall to turn off power to the
garage door opener motor. If you press this switch, it will release your garage door from the
operator and allow it to be opened manually.

3. If neither of these options works for you, contact Southern Home Creations for further
assistance!

If the garage door springs are not balanced properly, the door will come down unevenly. This
can cause the doors to become misaligned and potentially damage the opener or even your
garage door.

To check if your garage door springs are balanced, lift up on the middle of one spring with a pair of pliers (or even your hand). If the other two springs move as well, then it’s fine—you’re good to go. If only one moves, then you'll need to adjust your springs so that they’re all equal in tension.

Did you know that your garage door may be able to tell you when it's not functioning properly?

If your garage door is going up and down and not staying in place, there could be a number of
reasons why this is happening. For example, if the weather has been particularly humid or hot
lately, it could be that the springs in your garage door are too weak to hold it open. In this case,
you will want to call a professional for repair.

Another common issue with garage doors is that they don’t close properly because of debris on the tracks or wheels. This can happen when cars park too close together or if something gets stuck under or behind the door as it goes up or down.

The best way to avoid these issues is by regularly checking the tracks and wheels for any obstructions and making sure that nothing has gotten lodged between them or underneath them.

Garage door maintenance should be done by a professional. However, there are some things
you can do to keep your garage door in good working order and extend its life:

-Keep the area around your garage door clean and free of debris.

-Make sure that the tracks are kept clean and lubricated.

-Check the springs and cables for wear, rust, or damage. If they need to be replaced, call a professional!

-Clean the weather stripping every year with mild soap and warm water. If it’s cracked or missing, replace it immediately.

-Check that all hardware is secure (such as hinges) and tighten any loose screws or bolts on a regular basis if necessary, using an adjustable wrench with a socket attachment on it (or an Allen wrench if needed).

Choosing the right garage door dealer is an important decision. There are many factors to consider, such as:

1. Reputation: Do they have a good reputation? Are they a member of the Better Business Bureau?

2. Location: Are they local and convenient for you?

3. Cost: What does it cost to replace your garage door? What does it cost to maintain your
existing garage door?
